TAG Fall Cave-In Work Weekend #1

Help us get the TAG Fall Cave-In site ready for another great event! We’ll be tackling a variety of projects around the property to improve facilities, address maintenance issues, and prepare key areas for volunteers, vendors, and attendees. Whether you have construction experience, enjoy trail work, or just want to lend a hand, there’s plenty to do.

Work will begin each day at 8:30 AM Central / 9:30 AM Eastern. Volunteers are welcome to camp on site on Friday and Saturday nights.

Important: No food will be provided for this first work weekend, so please plan to bring your own meals, snacks, and drinks. Access to power is limited in some areas, so battery-powered tools are preferred whenever possible.

Projects include:

• Rebuilding the registration chalet entrance deck and replacing damaged decking boards.
• Stabilizing and repairing loose railings around the chalet and Tee Box Rock area.
• Repairing or replacing rotted benches and deck boards.
• Clearing trails and contest areas, including weed eating, brush removal, and general cleanup.
• Cleaning and organizing the registration building interior to make space for event materials and staff.
• Relocating the pavilion to the new security checkpoint area.
• Leveling and preparing the shower and ice machine locations.
• General site cleanup and debris removal throughout the property.

Helpful tools and equipment:

• Carpentry tools (battery-powered preferred)
• Drills, saws, and other woodworking equipment
• Chainsaws and loppers (with proper safety gear)
• Weed eaters and landscaping tools
• Shovels, post-hole diggers, and levels
• Work gloves and personal protective equipment

Volunteers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. Even if you can only help with cleanup or organization, your time makes a huge difference. Come spend the weekend with fellow cavers and help make this year’s Fall Cave-In a success!
