Joe Brown is leading a members beginner trip to Anderson Spring cave, to kick off the DCG March campout. This is a wet cave, with a hands-and-knees-crawl entrance. The water can be up to the waist on an average height person. The idea is to go slow & easy, and have fun!
I anticipate being in there ~4hrs.
This cave is in the Pigeon Mtn. WMA, which means you must have either a hunting or fishing license to go caving there, which may be purchased here. More information about the caving on GA WMA land can be found here.

We'll be parking on private property near the cave, so best behavior is a must, and by signing up you agree to follow the trip leader's instructions while onsite.

Things to pack & wear:
  • Synthetic (polyester/nylon) clothing, or a wetsuit
My O'Neil Reactor II (3/2mm) works quite nicely
    • Pants & long-sleeve top
    • A light jacket in reserve
    • Bringing multiple layers for the upper body is a good idea!
  • Gloves
  • Knee pads & sturdy boots
  • Helmet & headlamp
    • A secondary headlamp is always recommended as well
    • Spare batteries for your lights
  • 2 large contractor trash bags:
    • One for your caving pack,
    • One for your dirties, after you get out.
  • A change of clothes, for the ride back
  • A caving pack containing:
    • snacks & water
    • Additional batteries for your headlamps
    • Whatever you bring that you're not wearing (see items above).
