Hello caving friends,
NSS Headquarters is in need of all the help they can get with some work on the property that needs to be done, and as good as they have always been to us, we’d be wrong not to show up with our work gloves and give back.
I’ve chatted with Maureen, and got us on the calendar for April 17-18.
Camping will be allowed inside as well as outside the building both Friday and Saturday nights.
Our focus will be on replacing over 100 fluorescent light fixtures in the big auditorium with LED lights. We have a couple of NSS member journeyman electricians volunteering to help. Other volunteers will be needed to unpackage the new lights and bring them to the electricians, as well as taking the old ones away and stripping the light bulbs and ballast out for proper disposal.
Additionally, there is a large tree stump that needs to be cut down and cut up on the campground. The tree broke in a storm last year and the top has been cut up and removed.
